My friend, Richard, passed away Tuesday, November 24th 2015. We have been friends since the early 1990's. I'll miss him but I know that he has reached his destiny and now is among the angles. We shared many good and bad times together and I always enjoyed his wisdom and understanding. I made him mad a few times but he was always loyal, his friendship never faltered. Richard was a good Dominican priest, never forgot the practice and duty of community, prayer, study and preaching. His work at St. Joseph Hospital was always important to Richard and he did it well, made a lot of friends, helped guide many patients and co-workers through the complexities of life. Due to his illness Richard and I got to spend a lot of time together over his last year. During that time he continued to be a real joy to be with, always diligent in prayer, warm in friendship. Richard was priest, brother, and friend to me and a lot of people. Many will miss him.
